No, we wouldn't, he announced his intention to stand down as Labour leader, so he would have been replaced as PM anyway, but at a later date. If the stand-off had lasted long enough, as it could (ask the Belgians*), then that could have happened before a new PM was organised.

    * they took over a year to sort theirs out last time...

Was that supposed to clear things up or make things worse?

Sticking with the tories, they've done a great job considering what they were left to clean up.

I noted the FTSE 100 reached a record high yesterday .....

    Footnote

The Government is/has been a Coalition Government, therefore a tempered version of the 'true' Conservative policy.

The true Conservative treats a person like a corporation and a corporation like a person

Good luck with the private health insurance ;)

Unfortunately I think our politics is going to prove similar in a very uncomfortable way to that of Belgium, if the forthcoming enquiry into Westminster child abuse ever gets started and allowed a free hand. The current leaders of all parties must be bricking it at what is likely to emerge.

I was thinking of actually voting this time round, get to know the peeps policies (for the Stafford area and for the greater good of the area!) an all that', so I emailed Mike Shone and I haven't heard anything back (been over a week).

Looked at Kate Godfrey's thoughts for the area and it sounds like the sort of thing that appeals to me and (again) Stafford, so yeah I'm going to click the Kate Godfrey* button above!

For me, it really is a choice between Labour and Green, not that I know all there is to know about this lot and the others (Cons, UKIPpers etc) just that this is where I find myself... ...almost bothered about who gets in and who they kick out, type thing.

*It's all about presentation, and she's doing that well.

No sign of an Independent candidate yet - other than the single issue one, any suggestions for someone reasonable with some local knowledge?[IMG]

I have come to believe that UK plc endures, and occasional prospers, despite various government's policy rather than because of it. Although parties will occasional come up with a reasonable idea it is usually more than offset by everything else they are introducing . :hmm:

Just make sure you keep the receipts - thirty nine quid for a breakfast is OK.
