If you have a Tesco HUDL2, DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE!

1. You will hate the changes to the interface.
2. Android's continuing Nanny Regime means that it is practically impossible to delete stuff from your SD card.
3. The standby battery life has gone from days to hours. 100% battery to having to shut down in four hours! And charging is broken again.
4. There can be no going back.
5. Rooting doesn't work anymore.

So, as Zammo said: Just say no!

Is this a change to lollipop?

My tablet (not a hudl) recently had a lollipop update - it has rendered it virtually useless.

Now i can do things a lot slower for a much shorter period of time. On the plus side, the battery heats up so much it'll make a handy pocket warmer over the winter. But only for two hours tops.

An acquaintance of mine has a Hudl2 that has apparently just completely died on him.

It just does this -

- when he turns it on.

There seems to be scant advice on the intertubes as to a remedy - god alone knows why he might be asking me for succour - any help?

Do as it says and hit the 'any' key.

That should sort it.

There are no keys to press and the touchscreen is completely unresponsive - i think i read that someone had plugged in a keyboard via the usb slot and it did go to a further screen but then didn't have any kind of option to get into the bowels of the beast.

As you no doubt are fully aware, this is by no means my area of expertise.

Or try a medium-sized hammer.
This is more in line with my expertise level - i shall pass on this advice and wash mine hands of it.
