My toddler son has a question @Goldilox & I are stumped to answer. It's "Why is there a tractor behind McDonalds"

Anyone know - it's usually parked between St. Mary's and McDonalds - it moves around a little but is roughly in the same spot every evening when we walk past just after 6.

The member of staff that comes to work in it would be breaking the law then.

Presumably the tractor is a registered agricultural vehicle which means zero road tax regardless or fuel emissions and red diesel at a much reduced rate of tax.

Points for effort though!

I thought it belonged to his elderly father, because Old McDonald had a farm .....................

Absolutely right, I think he is trying to dodge taxes. He'll get caught soon enough. I don't know what percentage of time it needs to be in a field to qualify as an agricultural vehicle

I think I saw this little tractor going down Creswell a couple of days ago.

There's a vintage red tractor that tootles about Bridgeford Ellenhall Ranton way... not this one though..

St Mary's lawns must need clipping

Or is it a handy prop for harvest festivals

The Nuffield 3/42 was produced between 1961 & 1963 so presumably it is a preserved vehicle, the condition suggests it is restored & preserved rather than a working vehicle. Someone running a preserved tractor is unlikely to be using an agricultural licence or red diesel
