There were two useless twats, sorry, coppers standing there with a hand held speed gun yesterday racking up the quids. Probably discovered they can make a few quid by hiding just round the corner past the co-op so got the whole of stafford police station on the stretch of silkmore lane to fleece the locals.

Shouldn't be speeding in the first place!

The limits are there for a reason!

Great tweet from the Gardaí the other day. https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/503129966700404736

No excuse for speeding in a built up area I'm afraid.

Agreed, they only catch those actually breaking the law. Lets face it, so many people slow down for static cameras then speed up again that only surprise mobile ones really work anymore. The static ones really are just to force a slow down in particularly bad areas cos only a complete 'tard doesn't spot the huge yellow box and ease off a bit.

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
Not to mention the 'too stupid to understand what average speed cameras are' brigade, who slow down as they pass each camera, but speed up in between.

Do you mean average?

Average can be in mean (arithmetic mean), median, or mode. Mean is basically a form of describing an average of the sample.
Mean can be in many various types too, but only the arithmetic mean is considered as a form of average.

Know what I mean?:heyhey:

I think the Police like to be mean in determining the average speed; it's their mode of operation.

Hope they got every twit who was speeding, they deserve to be caught
So youre one of those tits who claims they have never speeded. A mate of mine went to the speed awareness course for doing 33 in a 30 in wales and the instructor of the course claimed hed never speeded in his life. Speeding is going 1mph over the limit. Youre either a speeder or a liar.

Can't speak for Gareth, but yeah, I may have allegedly broken the speed limit from time to time though never deliberately in a built up area. If I get caught whilst speeding, who is to blame? Me for speeding or plod for catching me?*

*Answer (because this is the point you so obviously fail to grasp) = Me.

33 in a 30 - I would ask to see his paperwork as the ACPO guidelines stipulate 10% + 2mph so 35 is the minimum a driver will be prosecuted for speeding.
He wasn't prosecuted though was he, he was sent on an awareness course which means he doesn't get a fine nor any points. The speed limit is 30 in built up areas for a reason. Speed kills, we have all seen the adverts on TV about the difference a few miles an hour can make in making injuries so much more serious.

Wish the police would hide along Baswich Lane and see how many speedsters they get then ... it is becoming more of a rat run every day!

I had the misfortune of witnessing the aftermath of a mother and young child knocked down and seriously injured by a speeding driver in Stafford, is was an awful experience and something I will never forget, and there was no excuse for it.
In the same area people still frequently speed and also go through red whilst people are waiting at the pedestrian crossing.

Break the road traffic law in a residential area and you deserve to be caught and prosecuted.

If you are speeding then either it's deliberate, in which case you deserve it, or its accidental in which case are you fully in control of the vehicle? If you aren't aware of your speed I'd say no.

I have broken the speed limit for both reasons previously, I'd never complain if caught though because I was guilty.
