Wanted Long ladders (and someone to climb them?)

Our waste pipe has come unstuck from the shower, and we also have some guttering that has popped apart, but there is a lean-to below and a house opposite that means straight ladders can't be used. Does anyone have a long set of ladders that bends? And if so, does anyone fancy quoting me to pop round and do the job as I hate heights!

Won't be home again til tomorrow but will then. It's the bit between 2 houses so limited space, could fit a car down if I didn't have the lean to but not much to spare. The lean to itself is about 6.5' tall then a pitched roof back to the wall.

That sounds like it's going to be awkward. Problem is even with very long ladders you may do gutters but be too far away to reach waste pipe and the angle may make the ladders a little unsafe. Would you not put some boards down on the lean to roof to spread the weight so you could walk on it for the waste?

Would the pitch of the lean-to roof make boards a bit suspect, as well?

Would it be feasible to remove (some of) the lean-to roof to allow the ladder into a better place?

The pipe has just popped off, I'm just not sure I can get up there. Also the guttering has popped out on the roof, its been put back once before but it didn't hold, I have some metal tape to try to bridge the small gap but again can't get up there! A set of straight ladders would get the guttering just about, I'm just not sure how to reach the shower waste pipe without falling through the lean to roof!

I think they're both doable - just. It would need access to next-door's bit. When are you around in daylight?

The gutter is the most difficult, I think.

Daylight, hmm. Going by current events I am next at home during even slight daylight on Saturday, I may have to take a few hours off work. Do you have ladders? I am now considering removing a portion of roof of the lean to, but its so old I'm scared the corrugated roof will just break and I'll be left in an even worse state!

The roof looks like it might not survive being removed - they can get a bit brittle. It could lead to replacing it all, but it might come to that. It could be worth putting a screw through the pipe joint when it's back together, to avoid it working its way apart again.

I have a ten-foot triple, which is a handy size for awkward situations like this.
