It's got years yet. We get a run of sightings every couple of months as the orbit precesses.

Wasn't her brother in Peter & Gordon? Not a likely band name to use today...

Gordano services, take a left out of the services then first right almost right away, follow the lane until you pass under the M5, find marvelous flagstone floored old pub with great cheap food and ales and cider served from straight the barrel.

Marvelous, and not ripped off by the cardboard sandwich chains...

A 'proper' pub. One to remember next time I'm heading Devonwards.

I was stuck there a life ago for a little under 25 hours trying to hitch north and homewards. If only i'd known.

Getting back to the original, ahem, topic - as much as i like rainbows, i cannot claim to like them as much as this guy.

Though i think it's fair to say i have a better understanding of them.

Apologies again for it not being now exactly.

Over the next few days it's being reported that tis a good time for spotting noctilucent clouds.

Never having knowingly seen them before they look like

this, and are visible between ~11pm and ~4am looking northwards.

Typically our more common clouds are out in force and will, of course, obscure them - but if you do see them, give us a shout please and i will do the same. They look rather nice in photos and i suspect they will look even nicer in the raw.

    Thanks.

Just watched an Iridium flare to the west, unfortunately cloud covered it most of the time, but I did get this interesting shot on my camera of it passing through the clouds.

Anyone care to hazzard a guess what's going on here as it wasn't visible in the clouds with the naked eye.
