Could be worth a look at the boot sale - no guarantee, but there's often such things available..

Is the one at cock sparrow lane cannock still on every sunday
I believe so, if not there, then not far away, but Age'd Parent may have more recent knowledge of that one than I have - I haven't been there for a few years now. I restrict myself to the Common.

I did have an excellent band sander , a neighbour borrowed it and burnt out the motor then put it back in my workshop without saying a dickie bird.

I have a Bosch one - I once plugged it into an extension lead, not realising that the switch was in the locked-on position. It shot off the Workmate that I'd set up in the garden and I spent some time chasing it before I realised that I could just pull the plug out...

It can be worth having a look in B&Q regularly, as they have some fairly startling offers now and then.

The car boot at Cock sparrow lane is still on, but may have moved to Burrows field, easy to find, it is on the the way to Cock sparrow lane just past Brockton on the left, I haven't been for a few weeks though.

Neither a belt sander nor a mitre saw at the Common today - well, that I saw, anyway. There was a hand mitre saw, there usually is - and an electric (abrasive) chop saw, though it was non-mitring, just square-cuttling.

And nuts and bolts and washers, I bought a selection at 4 bags a £1.
Edit... spelling, note to self, read before posting
