Lorry Driver or Very Knowledgable Person of M5 Required!

Problem I have is this. I live in Stafford, my two children live in South Wales. I need to find a place which is accessible both North & Southbound on the M5 where I can meet my ex-partner and hand over the children. Needs to be about 80 miles from Stafford, so that we meet halfway and share the traveling.

I've looked at Strensham Services but getting from Northbound to Southbound by the back roads adds another 14 miles, there & back, Michalewoods is too far and biased in her favour.

When I was back in Somerset, we used Gordano at J19, more or less halfway and easily accesible to both of us. I've only just started driving again today after a two year absence and don't really know the M5 past Gordano at all, having relied on trains in recent months.

If anybody can help with this one, really appreciate it.

Yes exactly.
In fact in the 12 years since Alan first posted this, I would think that his children are grown up and driving themselves home by now.

I've met them - they will shortly be driving him to 'the home', I suspect...
