The M&S store on Gaolgate Street will close on August 17 at 5pm with all colleagues relocating to the new Riverside store.

The new M&S will be state of the art. A bang up to date concept store. I think they will be looking to attract a younger customer than they currently serve in their current Stafford store. Best of luck.

I went into M&S many moons ago, enquiring about a jacket that was on display. The snooty cow I spoke to, looked me up and down and said, "We only put size 10 on the mannequins. I haven't shopped in there since.

Soo.... my grandparents are frantically worrying about tomorrows relocation of M&S.

Somewhere they've been going the same time on the same day of the week for the last hundred or so years and have known exaclty where they were going to park has now been thrown into turmoil. They have a blue badge, and level 3 seems to be the parking level of choice for them, but will the access bridge be open? Will they have to take a long detour round the wrong way? Do blue badge holders get to park free on the new car park even though there are barriers in and out?

What's happening with the old undercover Riverside carpark under the council buildings? There seems to be a lot of cars parked around there to the side are they construction workers, or is this still a blue badge area?

Questions questions questions......

I've been informed that the bridge will be open and the bridge Street car park is open and has been for some time.

Just had a walk over to investigate - the bridge is now open - so parking on level 3 - taking the bridge brings you right up to the entrance to M&S.

But the old undercover Civic Centre car park is free for Blue Badge and not much more of a walk, I think I'll be telling them to go there for ease or here as it's been nicely redone and extra spaces made.

Are there more parent and child spaces in the new / old civic car park?

No. None.

Didnt realise but there looks like a further underground car park opening to the left of the civic centre..... if you can imagine whereyou would've gone for the old Riverside.
