The Hawk
Well-Known Forumite
I think this has been mentioned, in passing, in another thread but, given its potential for disruption over a significant period of time, I thought it deserved its own thread.
Commencing in Autumn 2017, through to Autumn 2019, the Highways Agency will be transforming the M6, between junctions 13 and 15, into a 4 lanes, in each direction, smart motorway, by using the hard shoulder as a running lane.
There will be extra major works around junction 14, as Creswell viaduct is currently not wide enough.
Upon completion the M6 will be capable of attracting even more traffic which, during disruptions, will send even more vehicles into that large car park known as Stafford.
More details can be found at http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/m6-junction-13-to-junction-15-smart-motorway/
Read it and weep.
