Manchester City vs. Manchester United, Mon 30th April 2012

It seems as though it will go to the wire. What a lot there is riding on the Utd v City clash.

How did that happen? What about the Hoard?

What a what a game - cannot wait.

Suspect it will be a Barca Real moment of certainty, with the ghost of Christiano presiding.

On an apparently unrelated ticket - was down in the sunnier side of Spain recently, to see Ruud come on to put one in against Racing Santander for a rampant Malaga. His face remains indomitably horse-like, yet we may well see his like again in European endeavours next year.

P.S. Not an MU fan but a fan of the beautiful game played beautifully.

My husband (being from Manchester) is a City fan. After decades of disappointment he has a perpetually gloomy approach to the fortunes of his club, where he is a season ticket holder. Yesterday he was so over-excited by the day's results that he agreed to new curtains. I have high hopes of the derby match - I'd love to get the stair carpet replaced.
Incidentally, for what it's worth, he thinks that they'll lose it at Newcastle.

Can someone let me know what this refers to, so I can amend the thread title to be more specific, please?

Thanks. :)

The title race between the two Manchester sides.

I would have thought that anybody with any interest in the matter would recognise that from the thread title, and given it's ephemeral nature i wouldn't have thought it worth changing really. But then i'm not an Admin-type person.

Perhaps so, but anyone searching on Google will most likely use the word "Manchester", hence the importance of relevant thread titles. Thanks for clearing it up for me. :)

I love that you didn't know.
He is actually a High Court judge. He really thinks that Engelbert Humperdinck is a German composer and is going to have that part of Eurovision recorded for him - by someone who knows how to do it..

I have 'liked' that on behalf of the football fan in the house, who is going to the match next week. His mood for the following few days will be entirely shaped by its outcome. So if I'm on the Forum more than usual, you will know it is because the stony silence is getting to me.

I understand that, just in case, they may have got in a cask of a special bitter -'Disappointment'...
Bitter Disappointment is only small beer in the matter of a lost Manchester derby. Especially if it meant that the story of the Day of the Great 6-1 Trouncing would become a mere footnote in footie history.

My brother often rings up my mum to tell her to escape before I bring my dad back from a match that hasn't gone our way
