I've always found this to be more interesting and less crowded than the nearby Dovedale.

Today was a nice day up there.

The sheep were fairly calm.

If you pile stones up properly, then they stay there for a long time, as shown by this Lime Kiln.

The urbanisation of the countryside is creeping steadily, even the trees are starting to adopt the Borough Council Style.

Other trees have succumbed to the Sheffield Strategy...

This sign had a rather alarming message, especially as there were a few molehills around - if they were the actions of moles and not the result of somebody hastily burying a few Claymores - I trod very carefully...

There was some water flowing into the Manifold via small tributaries..

But, the water level in the river itself was below the ground surface.

Thor's cave - from the old railway track.

The station facilities at Thor's Cave Station are somewhat reduced these days.

The station at Weag's Bridge has similarly reduced facilities generally, but does have a visiting ice cream van on suitable days - I had to wait for it to leave before recording the surviving foundations.
