I used to go to this place a lot. The food has always been very nice and I love the venue.

Over the years I have tended to go to Thawa Bridge instead.

Wife and I went for a meal around the beginning of October, before lockdown 2 but when the 10pm curfew was in place.
Food was lovely, but service was truly awful. I’d normally be forgiving as I know things are difficult during COVID times but they weren’t particularly busy and The waiter seemed to have a real attitude problem.
Everything was ridiculously slow and they forgot our starters completely and skipped straight to main course!! We’d sat down at 7pm and ended up being ushered out at 10pm due to the curfew!
Good thing was though, without us even saying anything the manager came over and apologised for the poor service, and gave us 50% off the food.
Appreciated this gesture and it was good that he’d noticed the poor service without us having to complain. But it still put a bit of a downer on the evening for us and would put me off going back.

Covid is not an excuse for poor service. There is never an excuse for poor service.

I have been to Mela Lounge twice. The service both times was the worst, almost, of any I have had in Stafford.

I know, in my defence it was choice of others the second time and they wouldn’t take no for an answer.

It's probably best not to associate with "others" like that.

Personally I will always give a place a second chance, anyone can have an 'off' day. Never a third though.

You only get one chance to make a first impression as far as I'm concerned I'm afraid.
