Missing man Stone.

There is some thought that this man may have made his way towards Stafford from Stone. Possibly around the Dog and Doublet area?
The family believe he may have used a lethal injection to end his life. They are desperate for any cctv footage which may show sightings of him. The police won't continue to search without further sightings.
I spent most of Sunday searching with volunteers, it's terribly sad.

MAJOR UPDATE:
We now have CCTV showing categorically that Josh walked straight over the cross roads towards the canal. Video below. Police have reviewed lots of CCTV to the north, these have all shown as negative. We are now working on the assumption that Josh went South. This is where we now need to focus searching. Video time is 08:38am, this clears bus routes so Josh stayed on foot.

We know Josh wanted to not be found by me or mum; the RHS course he studied at is in Ryton Gardens in Coventry. We have today discovered that Josh missed the last 3 sessions but remained in Ryton. We are asking the police to review CCTV from Stafford train station between 10:30 and 1pm on Tuesday to determine if Coventry is a viable lead. Therefore can anyone who cannot physically search, research CCTV around Coventry station so we've got that covered, and ANY CCTV south along the canal between Stone and Great Haywood.

Search areas for tomorrow are on the map below, all of these areas will need to be postered as well please. Physical searches please focus on woodland areas, people postering please focus on the towns. Any questions or if anyone needs posters please let me know.

Tomorrow morning marks 1 full week since Josh left us. Please keep helping us, we're so desperate to have him home."

This is believed to be the initial part of the route taken - down to Aston, then northwest along the canal towpath - the last definite sighting* is on CCTV where the red marker is.

Search party meeting at 9am at the Three Crowns pub on Lichfield Road in Stone to plan the next area.

Staffordshire Police say -

BODY DISCOVERED BELIEVED TO BE JOSHUA SMITH

This morning the Police were called to the vicinity of the Trent and Mersey canal near Stone following the report of a body being found by members of the public engaged in a search for Joshua Smith .

Police officers attended and the area is now subject of examination and a body believed to be Joshua has been removed from the scene.

The family of Joshua have been informed of the situation and are being offered the services of specialist officers during this difficult time.

Staffordshire Police are now making enquiries on behalf of HM Coroner.

Both Joshua’s family and Staffordshire Police would again like to thank everyone who has been involved in helping to search for him.
