The Guards seem to be running their unofficial Most Scenic Traffic Stop competition again this year. With better weather, this morning's would be hard to beat.

Full set here - no licence, tax, insurance or current test - now no car, either.

Again, better weather would have helped.

Can the police not be held to account for the weather?

Mandatory Intoxicant Test, before you ask.

Might have been better with a higher viewpoint, to avoid the wall obscuring the distance hillscape.

Perhaps not exactly 'scenic', but interesting, nevertheless. There is a burning Transit hidden by the smoke and flames.

Excellent improvisation to stop the 'river of fire' running down the street by the simple expedient of emptying a flowerpot in front of it as a dam.

Must be some sort of pagan ritual, next Transit already lined up and the bunting is out.

He should never have gone 88 in a 30.

Very few 30 limits in the Republic - just a few along the quays in Dublin and the odd one elsewhere.

50kph is the 'standard' urban speed limit now.

Still mph limits on the railways, though..

I did wonder about converting it into Euros for geographical empathy but it lost something in the translation. ;)

A pleasant route for a car chase, having turned away 'at speed' from a check-point - and a nice walk home after the car is seized for no insurance, tax or test cert.

    A particularly fine grass verge.

I think they may be selling ice cream out of the side door.

Ducklings struggling with agitated water conditions and the steep sides of a Grand Canal lock.
