I haven't noticed any issues, but I've only had it a day and haven't really played with the GPS. It seems to know where I am.

Just thought I'd chime in to say I've joined the club and I have a shiny Samsung Galaxy S
Snap, got mine today, just having a play around (manuals are for wimps) been advised to run the battery down and give it a full charge overnight, looks great but it is very slim and that big screen looks fragile so have ordered one of these

This is a very handy post:

You'll need it, but it's a great phone. Poundland also have neoprene cases that fit it quite nicely.

Just checking out the new "Chrome to Phone" app and relevant Chrome extension:

Features:

Send links to browser
Google Maps links launch the Google Maps app.
YouTube links launch the YouTube app.
Selecting phone numbers in Web pages, launches the dialer with the number pre-populated.
Selected text populates the Android clipboard (long-press on text boxes to get paste option).

Note: Android 2.2 required. Chrome to Phone is powered by the Android Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) service, which requires Android 2.2 or later.

DUMB QUESTION TIME

I have an HTC Desire with a brain equipt for tin cans and string

I have a contract with Orange

1 If I am browsing the net am I also able to take calls?

2 I have had a text from Traffic TV saying I hope you are enjoying your free 30 day trial...if you dont wish to subscribe...unsubscribe via the application.. Do I really have to do this seeing as I did not action it? Am I likely to get more of this?

3 I cant seem to get a vibrate or tone for text messages even though I have looked through Settings..help?

4 I seem to get an annonymous text every day saying nowt...why?

5 As I have not had my first bill yet and have the two year Panther contract am I likely to get any extra charges for using the net?

I do realise I should be directing most of this at the Orange website but I am jetlacked and would prefer my nonsense to be 'local'

I thank thee

1 yes

2 maybe, did you install the app or is it preloaded

3 if you wanted things to vibrate i suggest you ask at the shop in gaol mews, i believe they might sell you something the meet your needs

4 maybe annonymous has nowt to say

5 http://www.beepy.co.uk/tariffs/orange-panther-30-24-month/
naming your plans after animals is not "cool" and people just sound slightly embarrassed when they have to say " ooh look at me i'm on budgie"

1. Yes you can do both.

2. WTF is Traffic TV? Never heard of it so can't help sorry.

3. Press the menu (physical button) and then go to Sounds then "Notification Ringtone" and then choose one. The vibrate option is also in the Sounds menu.

4. No idea.... maybe ask Orange when you aren't jet lagged.

5. Panther comes with data included. Will be "unlimited" subject to fair usage which I believe is 500MB on Orange.

HTH

Got my hotmail setup as a push service tonight, instead of POP3. And to think I was told I needed to pay for the plus account to get this running.

Pop is when you connect each time to get any new messages, push is where each new message comes straight to your phone.
