MP3 Players with restart capabilities - any recommendations?

I've got quite into audiobooks recently, but discovered that my beloved MP3 player is terrible for them - the chief problem is that *it forgets where it is in the mp3 when I stop it playing*. This is, as you can doubtless imagine, an annoyance. And the navigation on it's not much cop either.

Can anyone recommend a decent, not-too-expensive, as-high-capacity-as-possible (at least a gig, preferably more) MP3 player? The ability to resume from where it stopped is essential, but it's the only essential quality at the moment. Oh, except for the ability to plug it into a PC and have it appear as a removable drive so that I'm not tied to one piece of software to manage the MP3s on it - that's pretty much a dealbreaker too.

TIA, peeps.

I'm looking for one like that too, getting interrupted at work, by work, means i have to start from the beginning of the story again, to be able to pause the story would be ideal, any ideas any one ?

Good question, I have the same problem. I hope someone has a solution to offer.

My old Hitachi used to do it (free from my old job at the college), but unfortunately it only holds 512MB.
Might be enough....
/me vows to have a look for it when he gets home.
