He told me in an email in 2014 that Stafford were going to have extra train services to Glasgow and Edinburgh I saw email virgin sent him saying they were going to start in Dec 2015 timetable change over a month later still waiting for them services to start.

It could be down to damage caused by recent storms, my sister attempted to use the train from Stafford back up to Edinburgh this week and from, I think, Carlisle it was by coach. It took her 6 hrs. Will be like it for weeks apparently.

That will happen, together with a shed load of extra trains stopping at Stafford, once everything is finished at Norton Bridge.
