Not mundane at all really. I just had the total of the money I helped raise for the poppy appeal by making crocheted poppies, a lot of crocheted poppies.

£2,235.86
I'm amazed and really pleased with that :monkeydance::bananafunk::banana::cool:

That’s really brilliant, well done. A fantastic result.

Do you have a just giving site or similar to boost the funds? I would like to make a contribution.

As well as having a poppy when your next production line is running please.

We decided that we’d like to learn how to dance properly so last night we went to beginners ballroom classes at Walton Village Hall.

First dances, Foxtrot and Tango.

I had to remind husband that it was more important to concentrate on learning the steps than getting the Tango face expression right.

We had a fun evening but consequently my toes are covered in bruises.

I don't have anything set up as it all went straight into a poppy appeal box. If you'd like to contribute, you could just donate on the RBL site or hang on till October when we next have boxes :D. I'm happy to make you one, each one helps to help :)

I had an email yesterday from someone in the village
“I’m clearing out my cupboards, got loads of stuff, new and unopened, would you like any of it for future village Tombola/raffle prizes?

Me ... “oh yes please”

Then got a phone call.
“Hi, listen, we’ve been given so much booze for Christmas and we both don’t drink. Would you like it for future village Tombola/raffle prizes”?

Me... “Oh, absolutely yes please “

So, the second person that contacted me donated the following
3 large bottles of port, one small bottle of port.
One huge bottle of Scotch
One bottle of Champagne.
Two bottles of wine, 2 miniature bottles of wine.

The generosity of this village never ceases to amaze me.

Our next Tombola on 23rd Feb is going to be brilliant.

I suggested going to them, but hubby said no way was he going .
(I used to go to old time & Ballroom dance classes years ago when I was a kid..........mainly because me and my cousin fancied the dance instructors son )

7.30am .....Stupidly turned down a lift part of the way from home to my dentist surgery in town, as I wanted to burn off a few calories (as well as not feeling travel sick as I usually do being a car passenger). So hubby starts off for work the same time as me in our only car, I watch him drive off on his merry way as I start striding it out for the first few steps. Then realised........black ice everywhere and I was struggling to stay on my feet , especially on the higher ground on Wildwood. Ended up a mixture of tottering cautiously along and making time up with massive muddy strides where I could walk on the grass verges.

Then got a shock, expecting a pleased dentist to be telling me all was well.... instead told that so far I'd got away lucky, but my front teeth on my bridge/crown could snap off at gum level at any time in the near future :o , and when they do I'll be in BIG trouble :o

You should have done what you did on your birthday.
Get glammed up and tell him you’re going on your own, adding “I’m sure there will be plenty of single men needing a partner”

We spoke to someone recently who has been going for 18 months and said at first he really didn’t want to go, didn’t think he would like it but only went because his wife wanted to go and he likes to do things for her.
Now he really looks forward to dancing and thinks it’s the best thing he ever did.
