Saw on the news this morning that a silver spitfire was taking off from Goodwood at 13.30 today for an around the world flight and as I am only c35 miles away thought I'd see if I could get in to see it.

A rather surly lady replied that "it was specifically only for 350 specially invited guests and even if I could get into the Motor circuit part their security would move me on".

Obviously a local aerodrome for local people then.

I now am heading north back to sunny Stafford instead.

Goodwood is a public access aerodrome, but please be aware the team and plane will be very busy preparing for departure. You should get some good sightlines from public areas at Goodwood Aerodrome however.
