Portugal seems about the only place not putting people into isolation/lockdown when they enter yet. (just sending the cops around bars/restaurants that are still open making sure they are shut by 9pm)

Had an email from Gov.Uk last night saying :

Update on GOV.UK.

Portugal travel advice

Change made
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advise against all but essential travel to the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores due to travel restrictions related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

From another site :
As off next week aldi will not be selling any wines spirits. This is so they can clear the shelves to put more stock out.

Glad I got my 3 bottles of wine and a bottle of whisky along with a box of Strongbow from the Co-op today then. Never seen so many customers in Wildwood Co-op! If we're likely to be stuck in for 4 months going to need some booze to get us through. :o (Already arguing after being reminded that , even though we aren't yet 70 , we are both in the vulnerable group on pre-existing illnesses listed .. :()

Can't see my hoard of 4 bars of fruit & nut lasting long either.....scoffed most of it this afternoon..:D Sod the diet !

If the country you're visiting stops you going, the FCO are likely to ban all travel within 24 hours, which means you'll get your money back.

We might have a week in Scotland. Not the limestone pillars of Vietnam, but it'll do.

Well, I was shaking whist doing it, for the first time ever I've just cancelled our holiday. :( Hearing from people over there at the moment, and thinking of hubbys heart condition (and my blood pressure etc ...I forget about me though...) decided not to wait another couple of months to see if Jet2 cancel . Could end up losing lots if they don't cancel ,and we decide then we don't fancy chancing it incase anything happens whilst we are there.

There will always be other holidays in the future ( hopefully) :)

Think we jinxed it ....For 40 + years we have always done the bookings for both UK and foreign holidays in my name and paid by my debit card, and always stuck to that for good luck and always gone well. This time, we decided to get a credit card and pay with that in case the holiday company went bust . Could only get one in hubbys name as I have no income , card arrived and for first time ever we booked using hubby as Lead name so any problems it might be easier ...

In future sticking to MY name on any bookings!!!

Time to get stuck into my rations of cider which are disappearing rather quickly..:pint:

Very good advice as @tek-monkey has followed up with as well.
If we were both in good health , and not in our 60's , I wouldn't have thought twice about going over if we could , or hanging on to see if the decision was taken out of our hands. Bit of a worry withs hubbys heart failure though , and didn't want to find we could go and then him catch the virus over there :hmm:

Sainsburys had loo rolls earlier, I managed get the last pack of 4. 1 of the managers and assistant were stood watching people just grab them off the shelves. Folk were leaving the store with 3 or 4 packs at a time.
This morning Mrs T bought a four pack of cheapo kitchen rolls, not the heavy duty stuff. Cut them in half to normal bog roll size.
Job's a good un.

If you manage to see a box of Aldi 'softly' mansize tissues on the shelf, they'd be good for the loo. I bought a box the other week to try , but single ply and soooo thin. Had some in my coat pocket walking to town last week and they turned to mush with getting slightly damp with the rain.

Popped into Aldi for brioche buns (luckily still had a few packs left , but going fast!) on the way back from posting a mates birthday card through nearby.Overheard one senior member of staff telling another to "Tell the staff to use their common sense on things like bananas. Seen on line some staff have been taking bananas off bunches and only allowing 4 bananas. Seems silly when you can buy 4 packs of them!" At least one member of staff has some sense!

Decided if I'm going to go, I'm going to go happy .....bought myself 2 massive Belgian Chocolate cream buns to scoff this afternoon (last day of peace before hubbys boss gets him set up to work from home from tomorrow)

Sitting waiting for a dongle to arrive that his boss has ordered. Never seen one before, and sort of imagining a big parcel arriving with something looking like a big dog kong toy type thing.....just gooogled it , and nothing like I'd imagined

I'm working out where I can move the TV to use as a monitor when inevitably we're both working from home. Hunched over the laptop will make it really hard...
