Had a very busy, but productive day at work today.

The virus has had one good outcome, I've had a lot more time to chat & talk with some of our customers, it's really brought out the best in most people, and even some of the (pre-virus) most grumpiest of customers have turned out to be the most delightful, interesting & caring people. It's been so much better just to have time to properly speak to people. I for one will miss our queueing system once its back to mormal.

....also, im just 3d printing a set of ear protectors should i have to venture out wearing a face mask .

It means you can clip them around the elastic rather than the elastic cutting into the back of the ears.

Not under that name anyway. The directors applied for the company to be struck off in November

How do you even manage to run a Glass and Glazing company into the ground? It’s a license to print money, they call uPVC “white gold” don’t they?

Didn't you have to go in through the garage....
Went in through the garage (the kitchen door opens into the garage) . Had a back (kitchen) door key on me, but the other one was in the lock on the inside so couldn't get in that one either .
They had to climb through the upstairs window (easiest one to take out and put back in one piece) to get to open the back door to be able to work on front door from inside.

Just done my first successful fringe trim. (Normally hack away at it safe in the knowledge that the hairdressers can rescue it aftewards)

And hubby so pleased with results of his scalping by me the other week, he's decided he likes it better like that. My razor skills will save him a lot of money , he usually has it cut at Francesco's every 3 weeks. :)

I saw the need for home hairdressing a while back and got a set of clippers before the prices rocketed.
I mostly have always had mine shaved down anyway so big difference really other than paying a small fortune at the hairdressers :)

Went into 'Second Life' tonight for the first time in a couple of years. Thought my account would have been zonked, but no, still good. Must say I quite enjoyed it, the humour from this lockdown (and this is a mainly US based system) was quite good, although the usual idiots were about.

I'm venturing into a virtual world yet again ….

I NEED TO GET OUT MORE ….. :slayer:

We are, at best, remembered ambiguously, at worst remembered murderously.

Around the World.

Most, therefore, think of us at our worst. And we have been very bad.

I didn't do it, so don't boo me etc etc.

Think of it when you speak of 'us'...

Almost everybody else sees 'us' as a giant cu...

My VE day celebrations were so eventful it's taken me until now to recover...

At midday we set out for a walk to a local village - bit of fresh air, nature etc etc
Upon arrival in the village I thought my eyes were deceiving me but no - low and behold the chip shop was OPEN!!
With seven minutes before closing time I ordered a bag of chips with lashings of salt and vinegar - HURRAH!
To top this glorious moment off the husband produced a few cheeky cans of cider from our rucksack (I love him so much!)
We sat in the park and enjoyed the sun, chips and cheap booze - bliss!

We walked (very merrily) home, it was lovely to see people putting out bunting and having (socially distanced) street parties.
I said to the husband what a shame it was that we hadn't organised this in our own street - just as we turn the corner what do we see!?
The neighbours are on the lash, drinking since midday and starting off a mini-street party!
We happily join and spirits are high!

It's worth mentioning we have very elderly neighbours (I won't mention ages in case I offend anyone..) so kept FAR FAR away from them!
In discussion we mentioned that we own an original vintage gramophone (in fact I purchased it off the forum many years ago!)
We pulled it out and enjoyed the afternoon sun listening to 78's and signing along!
Turns out my neighbours aren't as fragile as I thought (Margaret has got some serious moves!)

As the night wore on we moved away from the gramophone and listened to some more 'modern' tunes...
Elvis was a big hit as well as Queen, UB40 and the likes!
However during a particularly enthusiastic rendition of 'Come on Eileen' my neighbour fell over.
And broke her wrist...

I went into full teacher-first-aid-bossy mode and organised an ambulance, ice packs, blankets and chair moving
I tried to comfort her as much as possible and kept her distracted by talking about her precious dog and it's recent hair cut...
Eventually she goes off to hospital with a wrist at a very unnatural and jaunty angle..
She asked me to care for precious dog while she was gone - which of course I obliged.

After saying our goodbyes to the rest of our neighbours myself, husband and precious dog retire home.
Husband hits the sofa and after a few mins turns to me and says ' I don't feel so good'...
Que the barfing...
I expect it was a combination of beer and gore (he has a weak stomach for that kind of thing)

As I'm sure you can understand precious dog is unsettled and whining for it's owner
But now it's also thoroughly confused by the commotion and horrific noises coming from the bathroom
I tuck husband and dog into bed and hope for the best
I'm not sure who whined more.

Precious dog would not settle and decided the best course of action was to bark continuously until two in the morning
No amount of fuss (or ear plugs) would stop the noise
Eventually neighbour arrived home - sore but bandaged up
I - and a very relieved dog returned home to sleep off the VE day celebrations!

Skill points x 100000 to our NHS, twice while we have been in lockdown I have had to phone my local doctors surgery, twice a doctor has phoned me back within the hour and I've had exceptional service, everything solved over the phone and even an actual appointment tomorrow.

The Dr's, nurses & other health are staff are doing such an amazing job behind closed doors, and I'm very very grateful for everything they are doing.

Had my prescription delivered today .
chemist driver turned up in full PPE and a full face med mask ( not one of those standard green things).

strangely , i still had to sign his paperwork due to some of the medication being controlled drugs so it kind of defeated the non contact thing really.

he was quite pleased to see me spraying the gate down after he had gone through it with disinfectant though.
