I've had one of the Blackbirds round for scones.

As a caring host, I asked him if he wanted the cream or the jam on top - "Don't give a guano, Mate. I just want it here - now!"

Words spreading of your bird hospitality, you're going to wake up to a scene from 'The Birds' one day...
Brings back memories of the Seagulls on Llandudno pier swooping down at me and one flying off with the expensive ice-cream cone I'd just splashed out on and actually had in my mouth at the time.

'My' blackbirds were treated to apple turnover and cream the other day ( which hubby had said to leave for him and then didn't eat in the end. ). Wasn't sure if they'd eat the cream, but the word soon got round and it was all gone in minutes.

Blackbirds always used to cheer me up in the morning when I was working. You'd crawl out of your pit, make a cup of blacker than a black hole coffee and sit looking through the patio door at the lawn thinking of the days slog ahead. Then you'd see a blackbird hopping about on the lawn which suddenly darted forward and pulled up a worm.
This would make you feel much better, because no matter what problems you encountered in your working day, at least you didn't have to start by having a cold worm for breakfast.

I swear one in our garden was eating a frogs leg the other day!
There will be a massive boom of frogs with all this rain....

Does anyone remember in the very late 90's, early 2000's there was a massive 'plague' of frogs everywhere... I remember picking up my kids after work from Tillington school, from Eccleshall Rd, down Holmcroft Rd, Stone Rd and all the streets around the Common were absolutely covered in frogs..... It was hard to walk home without stepping on them.

When we did get home the frogs seemed to be throwing themselves at the front and back doors trying to get in.

I'm sure it was around the same time that the frog signage appeared on Eccleshall Rd....

I think that frog might be a toad.

Toads.. The eccy Road dissect their migration route hence the high level of road casualties. I rescue any I see attempting the suicidal journey across that stretch of tarmac!

Discovered Blackbirds love over ripe Bananas.

Done something stooooopid! Fed up of plucking away at my eyebrows , completely destroying the nice shape the beauty salon had left me with pre-lockdown....decided to attack them with the 'lip & chin' waxing strips I got on my Boots order instead..... now got a bloody forehead after getting in a mess and ripping my skin off , as well as a chunk of my fringe, instead

When I was in my bath last night I head raised voices downstairs. I was really confused as he never talks!

Turns out Molly the cat had brought a live mouse in to give him as a present (he pretends not to like her but has been giving her more attention now he's home all the time) and let it go in the living room. After looking for it he'd just left it and gone to bed! Luckily Molly was still on the prowl, when I went downstairs she had it cornered but it was injured, so when I moved she finished it off.

Can't quite get my head around watching a live footie match on TV playing a recorded crowd cheering and singing ..

I don’t like the fake crowd sounds but I was amused by the fan screens behind the city goals the other night especially when they couldn’t even fill one of those with fans :)
