The bell is a bit of a shock the first time you press the button...

I've just walked a bit short of two miles - probably the first time I've done more than fifty yards in one go for over a month.

It frightened the life out of me, I was expecting a small 'ting'. I put my keys in the wrong hole too.
It's the second-worst 'bell-shock' that I've ever had.

I once went round to an elderly woman's house and pressed the bell - instantly, there was a gigantic amount of noise, quite overpowering, even though I was outside in the open air, as soon as I took my finger off the button, it stopped.

She was not very quick to get to the door and I was concerned that I had blown something up in the house.

As she arrived and opened the door, the bloke in the next house opened his garage door with a dazed look and confessed that it had been him - he was trying to drill a small hole in the six foot square steel door, but had left the hammer action on on the drill.

The noise was just immense.

I put a handy information slip on my keys for them - and jammed them in the delivery pipe...

I’ve never kept the same hairstyle, I get bored and need a change.

So I’ve spent what seems like forever growing out my fringe and layers.
Yesterday I had my hair cut into a short, chic, shiny Bob, the hairstyle that I’ve loved on other people and have waited what seems like forever to achieve.

Unfortunately it doesn’t suit me.

I had decided to wait till after my car had its mot, to book a hairdresser spot. She has none left.

It's probably for the best, as I'd decided to have the chop too, but deep down I know short hair doesn't suit me.

I like the feel of short hair better, when my hair gets longer it starts to get on my nerves hence why I keep having it cut.
I just get a shock when I look in the mirror.

When I’ve got long hair I look at women with short hair and think “oh that’s so chic, I must get it cut”
As soon as it’s short I look at women with long hair and think “oh that’s so feminine, I’m going to grow mine”

There’s no hope really.

Hahaaa! I have very naturally curly (FRIZZY, think Hagrid crossed with Tina Turner) hair, that takes a lot of styling just to get it to look normal. I look at lovely straight haired people with envy, however, when I have had it chemically straightened, I hated it, no body, no bounce, nothing.

We're never happy. I hate how long it takes to wash, dry & style mine, and I can't even let it dry naturally as it looks horiffic.

Had mine cut 2 or 3 weeks back, I did post a photo on here. I can't tell you how much I regret it. Personally, I feel I look a good 10 years older than I am (56)
Like yourself @Carole , I look at other womens hair and think - oooh that's nice, sometimes pluck up the courage to ask where they had it done. Never do owt about it tho.
@littleme , cheer up Dave, you'd never know your hair was that bad, it always looks fine whenever I see you.

@Carole ,
.

I saw that photo and although it was taken from the back I thought it looked lovely and in really good condition.

I’m not going to stress about mine, I don’t like it much but it will grow soon enough and for me personally I’d rather take a risk now and again than be stuck in a rut and wonder “what if?”.

I’m like that though with other things, happy to try something new.

I know someone, she lovely but scared to try anything new.
They always go to the same restaurant every time they dine out, go to the same place on holiday twice a year.
They think that if they go somewhere else it might not be as nice.
That’s true enough but it might be ten times better.

I chop and change that often that husband can’t believe that I’ve kept him for so long.
