I've just come back from a walk on The Chase in Brocton. I'm up there most days walking the dog but this morning it was a particularly lovely experience.

The sun was shining, the autumn colours were stunning and I stopped, sat on a bench and just took it all in.
I thought how lucky I am to have all this on my doorstep.

I've taken a photo on my phone but it doesn't really capture the colour or the scale.

Busy day today.

Got up, did some ironing, walked the dog.

Went out to buy bacon and baps for tomorrow's coffee morning/book sale.

Came home, made four cakes.

Went to Wendy's barn to collect the table tops which we took to church and got all the books laid out. Also got tables and chairs out, put tablecloths on, got cups and saucers out. All organised now for tomorrow.

Came home, iced the cakes.

Just having a sit down and cup of tea for 5 minutes before getting changed.
Out at a barn dance tonight at the community centre which should be good fun.

Although how much "take your partner by the hand" I'll be joining in with is anyone's guess, I'm totally exhausted :)

I've just got in from a night out and it's got to be the best £10 I've spent in a long time.

£10 a ticket for the barn dance with fish and chips included.

I didn't know what to expect but the caller was brilliant. She taught us the dances (or tried to), it was the best fun, I laughed all night and enjoyed every second.

It was so lovely to see a mix of ages, from 19 to 90 all laughing, dancing and enjoying each other's company.

'Twas just brilliant really.

Today I had a taste tour of M&S...

First I had a mini shot of finest sherry, followed by a cracker loaded with stilton cheese ( I then went back to sample the chutney)

This was followed by a round of shots... pineapple liquor, whisky sours and mulled port!

Then on the way out I hit the jackpot with a sample of Christmas cake as pudding!!

Winner! Hurrah for those mini testing stations!

Ours had Port to sample today.......the small child cheerfully announced to me that 'You cant have any cos you're driving, hahahahahaaaaaa!' .... I had to resist the urge to down the whole tray & make her walk home!

Smashed a big old heavy desk to smitherines that none of the charities wanted. (Rather too picky!) Hubby or my brother would have done the job in a few minutes, but as I was there I thought I would begin to make a start on the remaining furniture. Took me an hour but pleased with my achievement :)
