Down to £170 a month?!?!?!?! I don't even have a license, yet the insurance on my bike is about £100 a year!

I think bike insurance is cheaper because the person you are most likely to hurt in an accident is yourself.

The local broker said that it's the personal injury claims which are causing the problems.

I know, but that's what they have to pay in order to be able to drive, and that's cheap! - he can only afford it cos he still lives at home and pays only nominal board, the car is old and worth very little so hate to think what it would be if he had a newish one...but, the longer they leave it the more expensive its going to get....

Ah, fair enough. Guess we wont be seeing many insurers go to the wall though...

Does he NEED to drive? I've never learned, and am 36. My partner is 38 and also doesn't drive. Sure it restricts what we can do a bit, but not enough to make one of us want to learn. Admittedly public transport is pretty bad, we never use the buses in Stafford as for the 4 of us a taxi is always cheaper, but we walk most places anyway and we have pushbikes which I use for work mainly.

TBH I'm not even sure why I keep the motorbike, its not moved since September.

I suppose not many people NEED to drive...I only learnt to drive 4 years ago, and husband learnt 5 years ago (we're 42 & 37) but I can't understand how on earth we coped before we could drive.....Eldest son asked for driving lessons for his 17Th and middle son had some for his 18Th.

Husband works in retail, and has been promoted 3 times since passing his test, which we don't believe he would of been if he couldn't drive.

Interestingly I was left driving lessons in the will of someone who had never learnt to drive and wanted me to have more opportunitys than them :)

I have just got back from picking the wife up from work.
She is now cooking my tea.
Cornish pasty, chips, and gravy with a glass of home brewed beer.

That is all for today, tho I may have a Bacardi and coke later, if I can get her to pour it for me.

Cheer up Crazy Rat Lady, you already have all their products, and being as they're all so miserable you should have a much better chance at getting all the limited edition products if you keep up with only happy posts on there :)

I really don't know how you cope with all this pressure - does she realise how lucky she is to have you looking after her..?

Good news for the day is that my hba1c (diabetic blood test) is 6.6, which is apparently good :)

Bad news for the day is nursey says I should only be drinking 2cups of decaffinated coffee a DAY, not 2 an HOUR!

GUTTED :(

Why's that then? As it definately isn't about the caffiene.

Chemicals used in the decaffination process...

She had asked how much Water I drink a day, I don't drink any only decaff coffee.

Husband will be pleased as we're always arguing over fluid/water...he thinks you should drink so much water a day, while I thought it was just so much fluid.....nurse has proved him right by saying I should be only drinking water, and only 2 cups decaff. :( GRRRRRR

Went shopping with the daughter in law, got stopped by some woman giving away free make up in the Guildhall, it's only free if you pay £29.99 for a poxy bronzing brush. Told her where poke it. Back home for a well deserved mug of tea.
