My first RC plane with onboard video

Just treated myself to this plane and taken it over to the Charnley playing fields for this test flight. It has HD video recording, built in stabilization and even transmits the video live to a screen on the controller.
For £120 it's less than half the price sold for elsewhere (£499 on eBay in fact) and is so ridiculously easy to fly for first timers like me I would highly recommend it.

That was actually a REALLY smooth landing. The grass touching the EPO foam makes a right crunch noise on the video but it's not like that at all.... although my first flight a few moments before had a genuine nose dive. Even that wasn't through difficulty though, I thought I'd hit the stop recording button but instead I had switched off stabilization and without it you lose control in no time ;)

How many Air Accident Investigation Branch reports follow that sort of path....?

me wants one :yay:

showed wifey and said i want one , and reminded her its my birthday in a few months :heyhey:

Hell of a bargain mate. In all honesty, out of the £120 you're probably paying about £70 or more for the controller - it's like something I've never seen before. Not sure how quick they are selling them at that price as I watched the stock level for a couple of weeks till I ordered one, but it said 48 then and still says 48 now. Ebay price £499. Amazon price £269. eBuyer price £120... it's a no brainer - get the cleaning done all week and cook her breakfast in bed to make sure you get one ASAP ;)

If anyone reading this buys one, here's some essential advice... It doesn't tell you to glue the wings in permanently - but DO! You'll save yourself a battered nose cone and half a dozen smashes due to a wing coming loose in flight! Since I have glued in the wings I've not had one accident and can fly and land this beaut every time without accidents.

Unfortunately, before I realised this I did quite a bit of damage, but it's still flyable with the addition of some sellotape holding the nose together. ;)

I wonder, did Richard Branson have to go through these same learning phases when he started Virgin Atlantic...?
