Did anyone see this programme on BBC1 last night?
I watched it with amusement as this is my field of work and just intereseted as to how others perceived it?

I've watched two minutes, but then I decided to stop before it turned me into some sort of shoes/tek-like social-Darwinian psychopath. I'll have another go later.

just found it highly amusing especially for the first housing officer, when her tenant was interviewed with piles of cans of Fosters around her...

Are you insinuating that I don't like scroungers? On the contrary - see below my name <====

I never said I did hate them, I used don't like. Do you really think I would waste such a powerful and destructive emotion on scroungers? Please!

As for wanting them dead....hmm.... well I don't want them dead but I can see the economic and social advantages of this, and frankly if it were put to referendum I would vote to carry the motion.

Of course we would have to define scroungers, as stated before I have no problem helping those who need help.

Ha ha!

Well just finished watching it and F***ing hell. How can people live like that? Oh well, glad I told my estate agent to keep me away from social housing.

One of the paradoxes of the language - rather like public schools being private, it seems that social housing is for the anti-social. An unfair generalisation, I know, but there is a point to be made. The other 99% are paying to live with this.

Not at all. My point is that we shouldn't expect people who live in social housing to put up with lower standards in their neighbourhood. If some kids jumped up and down on the roof of a posh person's car then something would happen a lot sooner.

Posh people don't live near social housing - they wouldn't allow it. Hence my comment, and by avoiding social housing you are making the problem worse by ghettoisation.

What about the many decent people who live in social housing who have to put up with that kind of thing all the time, but because they live in social housing and it's confined to specific areas that aren't on anyone's doorstep no one gives a shit.
