New pub opening - Hungry Horse in Stafford

You can move them, but only under certain conditions. I know someone with a plot of land they want to build on, that has a sett on it. There is a certain window where you can't touch them, pretty sure its most of spring/summer, and they can only be moved by professionals. It'll cost a few grand to get them shifted, but that will have all been known about before planning permission was given.

If the foxes can prove they have lived there for more than 10 years they may have the right to the land
I think that you will find that it is 12 years now and they will have had to signify their intention to claim the land before the 12 years are up. Tough Cheese, Reynard!

I know this won't please some, but - If the Burleyfields/Castlefields expansion goes ahead, and this pub is built, it will be a busy place most of the week.

Anyone looked at page 72 in this weeks newsletter
Application for Planning Permission - pub/resataurant 109 parking places
On Newport Road b/w The Hollies and Kingsway
castlefields got leaflet-dropped by some NIMBY trying to get people to complain about this new hungry horse.. i didn't even know about it until i got the leaflet, at which point i promptly contacted the council to say "bring it on, the menu looks amazing!" lol

impressive, really?
Well OK, each to their own.

Chambers, now that was impressive, and we know what happened there, damn it i miss that place.

Maybe, this place will flourish as it's what 'the people' (you know the sort) want, perhaps, maybe, kinda etc etc

If we'd visited more often it may have remained, but not enough people went there for it to be a viable business.

Hungry horses for courses, you've got to be a bit dim to open a place 'the people' don't want. The market dictates who falls, and the problem with a system where most of the wealth is at the top is that there are very few of them to spend it. Especially in the current economic climate it makes sense to go for the largest market, this being cheap food and lots of it.

I've been to the one just outside Rhyl several times, I've even met Super Horse ;)

i think it looks pretty impressive:

Tex Mex Combo £12.99
A half rack of ribs, southern fried chicken and a bucket
of chicken wings. Served with chips, corn on the cob,
onion rings, coleslaw, grilled tomato and BBQ sauce.

Hell yeah!

yeah - if you check out the menu, and there is genuinely nothing on there that you like, i'd be surprised.. way more choice than chambers, for starters!

ditto! don't forget that andreas rex & i were regulars at chambers ;)

this is a different kind of place, as you say - a chain, with a wide variety of choice to cater for (pretty much) everyone, at a reasonable price.. i've never eaten at a hungry horse, so for all i know it's crap, but if it isn't and the food is as nice as it sounds (all day breakfasts, ribs, cajun dishes, etc.) then it will be brilliant!

Its not amazing food, but it is filling and it is tasty. You won't get fillet steak and corn fed chicken, but you aren't paying for it either. We visit it every year when in that part of Wales, nice to see more Mexican stuff appearing.

ditto on the mexican - prob's my favourite kind of food, although i doubt they do fajitas as good as me :P

Menu looks OK to me. There are not that many standard English eateries if you compare them with Chinese/Indians etc, in the town.
Chambers will be back at some point under the guidance of Lisa who also has The Bird'. And I don't think she'll serve meals on fancy boards and chips in bowls.

Thing is, the west way is in the wrong direction for many. Plus there is a large housing estate next to this one which is about to grow significantly. In the past people used a pub as somewhere for the community to get together, people actually used to be friends with their neighbours. Somewhere you can take the kids and have a pint and a bit of food would be a welcome addition I'd have thought.
