In a recession the idea is very difficult because requires businesses to budget for it and has to be advertised over many months rather than one or two as it was a raffle, at the time both are these factor's weren't in place, so it wasn't appropriate to go ahead with the idea because businesses budgets were already allocated despite their interest. However, you can still rename the ground if you get in touch and pay for the stadium sponsorship package.
