It was definitely an American dinner but if I remember correctly they did do a good variety of food. I can't specifically remember if it did Mexican as well though.

Where Revs is located was an American bar and diner called Faces. This was run by Nick Perrin.

Cadillac Jacks came after Faces closed and was owned by the Baskerville family.

    Ok thanks.

I may be getting my dates mixed up but I'm sure we had a meal in Cadillac's with a friend who passed away too early and his wake was in Faces in 1996 so they must have been open around the same time.

I knew a few of the staff in Cadillac's and I can remember them saying they had been bought out to cut down competition but it may have been by another establishment, perhaps Chicago's.

For some reason I'm vaguely remembering it being called Margarita's or something similar and being a Mexican but I could be wrong.

Was it the Mexican that then moved to The Shrew?

The Sun was also a Mexican for a short period.

Extremely red - it allegedly took four coats to defeat it.

Whenever you think of Mexico you think of an old inn badly painted in Dulux Fire Station Red.

Why wasn't it a long term success?

What was equally memorable from that time was how many people willed Mexican restaurants into being, then saw them materialise, then failed to patronise them, then saw them fail, then lamented their passing.

What a time it was to be alive.

The Sun Pub in 1978. Not a sombrero in sight.

Nice Escort. The car that is, not any of the folk standing at the bus stop.
