right, ive finally bitten the bullet and decided to cancel my vodafone contract seeing as theyve been raping me in charges for years (despite giving me a shiny new phone every year)

anyhoo, got myself a cheap ass deal (virgin, sim only, 10 quid a month for 300 texts and 300 minutes anytime/any network- a quarter of what im paying at the mo for the same mins/texts!!!!!!)...and now the fun starts.....i think my phone is dying!

bloody typical- obviously- but can anybody offer any assistance?

is it worth trying to get it fixed?

where can i get a cheap, but decent unlocked handset? (sensible answers only! :cops:)

am i best to cancel the sim and just go for a new contract where i know im gonna get a new shiny phone again.

im sorry for being a bit of a girl about this....but i am.

I'm no help on that front, sorry, but to say I've been a Virgin customer for 10 years and I'm very happy with the service, will help I hope.

vodafone are gaylords, it's a miracle you've stuck it out this long..

how bothered are you about the phone? do you want a flash one, or are you happy with a brick that is "so last year", as long as it makes calls?

you can get plenty of phones on PAYG for around £50 which will do the trick.. you don't have to change your number or anything - just chuck the SIM away that comes with the phone and stick your current virgin one in..

other than that - there's a decent mobile phone stall in Castle markets.. as soon as you go in, it's in the far left corner.. he'll have all manner of second hand phones, and he's a friendly chap who does this for a living so he won't sell you anything dodgy :)

well, obviously, i want it to look nice! if this one does die, ive still got my old nokia 3310, that works a treat....but looks a bit wanky.

aaaaaah, never thought of that. ive just been looking at sim free phones and been having palpitations at the costs...which are ridiculous!!!

Big bonus with Virgin, if you go to the V festivals. FREE BEER and KEBABS all weekend.
That has been a plus in the last few years:munch:
