Great friend of the club, had been in hospital for a long while but I believe was a bit better, out of hospital for a while and was actually away with his family at time of his death. RIP

Well-Known Forumite
Peter, we (SRFC) are playing Coalville on Saturday. A top of the table clash. We are currently top and Coalville third.

We are the highest scorers in the league with the second best defence. We've also got some of our injured players returning for Saturdays game.

It should be a great game with a very good attendance. I look forward to seeing you there.

Sounds like it was a very entertaining game! with many twists and turns, , Boro' struck early, then conceded an equalisers. Game of attacking football 1.1 half time! Coalville went one up, but Stafford added a couple of strong subs, who attacked the visitors, and cheered on by a season best crowd of 628! Rangers season top scorer, Ben Haseley banged in the equaliser! :bananafunk:

Still top of the league, and the Club Fan Rep' posted the following today!:-

"The saying "turning that corner" has often been used round these parts (Marston Road) and this weekend has just shown the potential the club has! Can we keep it going and build on it?
Friday night the club was very busy with room bookings. Saturday we had a gate of 628 and a busy social club plus many more passing through the club. Today the club staged a charity event that was well publicised and attracted a few hundreds people though the gates, as well as staging a wedding fayre in the club. This all went hand in hand with people booking to eat in the Chairman's Suite, so a lot of carverys were devoured, meaning that our resident business thrived. A lot of people put a lot of time and effort in and the amount of work going on justified the recent call for more volunteers on match day and even staff in the club.
The match today proved that people now know where the club is and will possibly come back to use the facilities. I had to go and park round the back of the industrial estate as the car park was rammed! My own efforts seemed to be recognised as I had helped promote the game and am trying to help raise funds for the charity. Personal thanks go a long way to making your efforts worthwhile! I was also approached by somebody to help promote another event at the club that is 12 months away. If I am still around I fully intend to help out!
With the current potential, possibilities seem endless, as long as we can get people to help on projects. Everything we do helps strengthen the infrastructure - things like booking in 2 match sponsors for yesterday's game will go a long way towards promoting the club.
As they say "ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!" "

Didn't go, working! :xd: but by the reports I have heard, was a team definitely back on track against a team in the bottom two. 2.0 not emphatic, but by all accounts could have been plenty more! :bravo: . Not that they have been in too much danger, but though 6 points clear they could be all but eaten up by the two team below them, who both have two games in hand! (6 points! ). Important that the team can maintain this push at the top, and comforting that they have seemed to come through a minor blip, and have signed a new experienced striker! :slayer:

Yep, very impressive result in AWFUL, very windy conditions, and a few hours after the win I attended an Xmas, party & meal at The Deep, :munch::pie: sitting by the largest pool, at the aquarium (See Life Centre), by the Humber, in the centre of Hull! :santa: Great fun had by all, and a not inconsiderable amount of booze consumed! :pint: :barf::britain:

Stafford Rangers won a battling Boxing Day derby with Chasetown. Despite not playing too well, and going behind early in the first half. They equalising at the end of the first half; went down to ten men and were battling against the strong wind. The manager threw the dice in the last 20 minuets of the game, throwing on two young forwards, taking off the top scorer, and the experienced winger (who had played well) as they were looking jaded. The dynamic duo combined to blast home a fantastic winning blast, to send home the crowd V E R Y H A P P Y !:bananafunk:
9 7 8 Attended, and despite a reasonable turn out from across the chase, I would imagine not far off 900 folk went home like this:- :monkeydance: Leek away on Monday, good result there and I will be optimistic about the chance of breaching the 1K mark next Saturday. Carlton at Marston Rd. They are second bottom of the league, and Stafford have already defeated them away 2.0, so as much as any result can be accurately predicted, this should be a Rangers win, so if the weather is decent fingers crossed for 23 more through the turnstiles, to breach that particular barrier! T H E Y A R E O N T H E I R W A Y B A C K ! Get that Shed End Started! :slayer:

If you have never visited the club,or even of you have, it may be worth a look! The club house has undergone refrigeration. The pitch has been re-turfed and now provides an excellent surface. Support your home town team (If it is!) :stafford:
