Parking in Stafford.

Is anybody on here having problems parking in Stafford, today as usual we came into Stafford 28.9 we use the north walls car park, round and round we went we must have done at least 4 circuits of the car park before we found a space this must have took about 40 minutes. When they gave planning permission for Morrison"s why did the council not provide temporary adequate parking, one of the problems is people park all day thus taking all the space's,for shoppers, another is the car park used by Staffordshire council, I now they have to park somewhere but there are empty spaces in this cark park & Its seems such a shame not to use this spaces when the parking situation is so bad

As soon as the new multi storey is open the operators running North Walls are handing the car park over for the final development of the site, finishing the supermarket, resurfacing the car park etc.
I was under the impression this was happening within the next couple of weeks but not sure that is still the case. I wonder if anyone knows when North Walls will reopen for parking?

Well there is 2 more units to be built yet and a petrol station. The car park I would think would piled up at the low end otherwise Morrisons will lose aot of spaces in winter through flooding, if not this is a major oversight and were in the original plans and then there is landscaping so it could be a while yet. I think I read in local press council staff will not be able to park from around the end of October

I've just had a look at the approved plans for the Morrisons car park. There does not appear to be a vehicle access to the car park from North Walls. Entry and exit to the car park will be via Queensway only.

Looks like the small shops are going to be B&M and Just for Pets.

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I mentioned that somewhere else one here....it would free up the large B & M unit for *Wren ....

I'm now half convinced that Wren has Stafford mixed up with Stratford (as Pure Gym did) & its not going to be here at all....

Easily done...

Hopefully, the decision for Just for Pets and B&M to relocate to Stafford Town Centre will also encourage other retailers to do the same i.e. Next etc. (Stranger things have happened!)

It should, hopefully also encourage more footfall in the town centre.

But will B&M relocate or have 2 branches ..like Argos?

I'd be surprised if B&M had two branches in Stafford, as such I assume the Queensville shop will close.

Was 'Just for Pets' previously occupied by 'Pets at Home'?

Queensville is very successful so I doubt many shops will want to relocate from there to the town centre. It has a lot going for it especially free parking and that is a big plus for me plus you don't need to worry about sprinting back to your car in case you get a ticket! The new Next store will be a big plus for the area and I think there was talk of an M & S food outlet planned for Queensville too ;)

I noticed yesterday that B&M at Queensville have also started selling Fresh Milk and Bread.(Hope it doesn't move that store over to by the new Morrisons, I enjoy a walk down to the Queensville one )

the out of town retail park and a town center store have different customer ecosystems - with the benefit of being close to each other to help keep the costs of deliveries etc down - I can't see them closing the Queensville one.

When running night time gigs at the Market Vaults, I usually direct comedians to North Walls for parking as I understood it to be 1) still a car park 2) open late 3) free after 6.

Are all those things still true? And is it currently so small that finding a space on a Monday night after 6 would be an issue?

They should be fine, after 6pm.

Unless they get caught short...
