The old part of Lichfield Road on the Island is 2 hours, White Lion Street is only 1 hour, though - don't fall into their trap.

They're putting cameras round St Georges, I think it was kick started by all the damage that has been done to staff cars recently, mine included. I don't know how they will police it, but anyone not connected to SSSFT is likely get a ticket or be clamped. About time n all.

I don't think you can clamp on private land these days.

Just as well, the porters have lost the key to the only clamp they have!

Maybe get a ticket then. I don't know how they'll run it, what with all the visitors and users of the training school.

I work there. So It's ok for me. But I do see others parking there and walking into town. But parking there is getting worse by the week.

Me too, they're putting in new parking spaces down at St.Chads/Marston House. But, that's where staff have been parking for years, on the grass verges. I am hoping when the work has all been done on the wards, the area in front of the club will become a car park.
I have heard tho, whatever plans they have, it will put a stop to those on Corporation St parking at St. Georges.

There seems to be a Car Park available behind what was going to be the Lionel Blair Apartments on Greyfriars - £3 for 12 hours.

I noticed that the other week, although I think the parking behind Lionel Blair's pad is for residents only & is gated (sort of) - I think the advertised parking space is behind the other building (the one the big parking sign is on?) was it a 'Signpost' center (something to do with finding jobs/further education for school leavers)?

You could well be right - I was driving and only just glanced at the sign.

On the Iceland car park my dad (82) was fined recently for putting his number plate in wrong on the ticket machine, so received a fine for £35 feeling annoyed he photocopied the ticket and sent it off as proof he was in the car park between the times he paid for, (as photos are taken of your reg as you arrive and leave) they reduced his fine to £15 but still feeling annoyed and punished for making a genuine mistake he refused to pay it and wrote to them again, yesterday he received another fine totalling £100 and a threat of court action, he has sent a cheque off for this amount because he is feeling threatened. I for one I'm annoyed because it seems he is being fined for making a mistake, because from the photo of him arriving and leaving the car park you would be able to see he didn't over stay his time, yet he makes a genuine mistake by putting his number plate in the ticket machine wrong and is fined for it. I'm sure he won't be the last to make this mistake so just be aware you will be fined for human error if you use this car park.
