Patrick 'Paddy' Considine

Just found out he was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire and grew up just outside Burton in Winshill. I also discovered a relation of his works at my gaff. He's reluctant to share any stories though. The git.

Fine actor though - soon to be seen in Hot Fuzz with Pegg et al. Paddy, not the relation working for the NHS. Although he might be...

Yep! they are very proud of Paddy in Burton, and his pal Shane Meadows the director.

Winshill is an interesting part of the town, and depending which part you go to, it can be either posh or quite rough (the posh bit is pretty small) a bit like where I live.

When I worked at Burton Fire Station a good percentage of our calls were from Winshill, and the last one I had there before transferring to Stafford was unusual.

The Landlord and Lady of one of the local boozers had, had a romantic candlelit bath together. Now when I say candle lit, they had gone for broke, because every available part of the resin/fibreglass bath was home to a candle or tea light! ;)

Well it obviously worked, and they must have been in a hurry to get to the bedroom, because ... you are there already aren't you?

"Is that you darling or is something burning?"

Talk about coitus interruptus, ... 10 firemen, two fire engines and 1600 litres of water are enough to induce droop in even a diaphallic canine* who has swallowed a months supply of viagra.

We saved the pub, but the bathroom was a right off, so along with the extensive smoke damage, it proved to be a pretty expensive shag! We had a laugh though!

Shane Meadows the director.
He used to be Shane Meadows - College Technician, when i were at ford college doing media studies. Twentyfour Seven had our lecturer in it.

Has anyone seen Dead man shoes? Possibly one of the darkest films i've ever seen and certainly not one to watch with your mates on a sunday morning nursing a stinking hangover!!

If you pop along to Broadway Cinema in Nottingham you are likely to see Shane Meadows and/or Paul Fraser in the cafe most times. Ocassionally, Paddy Considine pops in there too. Alternatively, rent one of the films instead.

Anyone seen any of the pre Twenty Four Seven shorts? "Where's the Money Ronnie" and "Small Time" are particularly worthy of note.
