Is it not somewhere on the planning map in my signature (although I haven't had chance to check it's up to date recently)

Its about time. The site has been allocated for development in the local plan and forms part of the council's housing land supply. This application has been delayed for a number of years.

I see all the comments summarise as “but we like our view bland fields that we don’t own or pay for” as per usual.

I'm not opposed to the new development, I mean, it was always going to happen , but 1500 seems a very high number of new houses being built there.

Especially when you consider the fact that the existing developments like castle fields, and castle house gardens, were only built with a few hundred dwellings.

Which suggests to me that the houses are going to be more crammed together, and there's going to be a lot less green open areas, heck, these houses aren't even gonna have a decent sized garden it appears.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Given that most households have 2+ cars these days the shear volume of vehicles in situe will be an issue....
Traffic is not an issue. Never has been and never will be in Stafford, irrespective of addition housing and car ownership etc.

Highways and the Borough Council have said this time and time again, so it must be true.

You're just being a doom-monger.

How come this planning application (yellow) for 1500 thousand homes is significantly less than 68% of the size of the larger 2200 home development proposal?

Not sure - I always go off whatever data I can find - the larger blue bit is far older so it might not be as up to date - possibly phases 2 or 3 will have more of the promised mixed development, larger houses, more green spaces?

Last I heard of the larger development plan was 2013 so it might have been shelved for one reason ro another.

Hear, hear. These people who post only negative things about Stafford make me sick. What traffic problem, I say. Only this week I managed to drive from one side of the town to the other in less than two hours. My journey would have been even faster were it not for a an inconsiderate family of five-toed sloths hogging the Queensville bridge.

I have written to the chief executive to offer my congratulations for making Stafford what it is today.
