Well-Known Forumite
On my way out of Stafford on the country lanes towards Derrington 'and beyond' I saw far more cyclists than usual. I was taking the softie option and admired their hardiness.

BUT one cyclist had no rear light at all and was wearing entirely dark clothes. I came upon him on a bend, where the road conditions were complicated by flooding. Fortunately, I didn't hit him.

Four telephone calls by the time I got home, followed by a knock on the door from a friend, told me that there were lots of flashing blue lights gathered on the lane I'd recently travelled. With touching concern though alarming lack of confidence in my abilities, various friends and ex-neighbours who know that I usually cycle, had convinced themselves I was unconscious in a ditch. One of them had even called my husband.

I have no idea what the blue lights were doing, nor if it involved one of the cyclists I'd seen but do be careful if you are one of the brave night riders and remember that you need to be seen as well as to see....
