The helicopter is out again! Why don't they put something on Twitter as to why ( without giving the game away) then grumpy old devil's like me wouldn't be so pi**ed off over loosing sleep! Come on a bit of consideration costs nothing.

It's over my house right now! I have tried to throw a slipper at it but! I know they have a job to do, but so do I. Even the criminals won't be able to sleep...2nd night now:(

I imperfectly remember a helicopter pilot telling me how much, per hour, it costs to keep one of them up in the air.

I think the details were lost along with my consciousness when my jaw hit the floor.

Yes I can hear it...if I disturbed so many folk I would be done for disturbing the peace! I think it's a cunning plan for us all to be arrested tomorrow for dangerous driving ( due to insomnia)!

Well I hope they find who/ what they are looking for....and as quickly as possible! I wonder how many Shell points I would get on £1,675 of fuel?!

That's the cost per hour, it's not all fuel, there's wages, maintenance, depreciation, etc...

The word on the street is that there was a 'security event' at St George's last night, it seems likely that this was the origin of the aerial surveillance requirement.

I watched it circling for a good hour or so and never saw a search light on once.

The infrared is usually more effective..

..the visible light is often used more for the benefit of those on the ground closing in on a suspect..

Bloody thing drove me nuts last night :(

I did have a page on my phone that told me what the helicopter was up to, but i lost it doing a factory reset ...

Between that bloody helicopter and my neighbours dog, I did not sleep well. According to the twitter feed they haven't been out in Stafford at night at all recently. Any poor soul living near the town centre could tell them otherwise.
