Does the helicopter really annoy people that much? Ok, I did hear it last night and looked out to see what it was, but inside my house with the windows closed it didn't keep me awake.

It's windows open season!

I think people would be less irritated if it hadn't been on and off for the last fee weeks forno discernable reason

Last thing on there for round here was taking a dog for a spin yesterday afternoon....
They never seem to update it with 'real' stuff!

What happened with the 'event' & why is there nothing in the news?

& where did my post with the twitter halfpenny link go? Will the helicopter be out looking for it tonight?

Its all a massive mystery.

I saw one earlier so low you could clearly see the expression of the pilot's face.

This was over the outskirts of Gnosall.

Allowed to drop to 50ft AGL outside built-up areas and 300ft over the town.

A half-decent tree will be 50ft......

They won't often do that, of course.

That's the cost per hour, it's not all fuel, there's wages, maintenance, depreciation, etc...

The word on the street is that there was a 'security event' at St George's last night, it seems likely that this was the origin of the aerial surveillance requirement.

Yes apparently Facebook said that too. I got 3 hours sleep so should consider myself lucky I guess. If it's out again tonight I will be sectioned and in St Georges so feel free to visit. No grapes please, just a left slipper!

Bit of a de-rail, but my parents treated Mrs WMR and myself to a helicopter ride over portsmouth harbour this weekend. A fantastic experience if you ever get chance, people.
