Post House for sale

The post house has been put on the market for an asking price of 1.5 million.

Apparently the marketing blurb by the estate agents says it'd make ideal apartments ... The article then suggests the council wouldn't grant an application to turn it into apartments.

Tbh, I hope it's not sold under the premise of more town apartments. We have enough already being built, and I would rather have it stay as a commercial premises.

I don't think many people would want an apartment at that end of town. You'd spend every Sunday morning cleaning the puke from your doorstep.

It is a good price.

Take one job centre for £500k add a post office at £650k then spend 2 million doing it up. Then sell it for less than half.

Speaks volumes for the town centre and the lack of night time economy except Friday and Saturday.

A price is just an opinion

Someone's opinion ..

A Stafford house is now priced at £245,000 more than it was bought for a couple of years ago

It might be the correct price

It might not

It might be the Right Move...

That's actually a good point, seeing as it's technically owned by two landlords , is it the whole property for sale or just the post house part ?

Edit, seems to be both parts at least.

Seems a bit steep when there's an entire shopping centre in Kirkcaldy for a quid.

(Update: It sold for £310,000)

I can't see anyone buying it then ripping it apart to turn it into residential. It'd cost someone a serious amount to do it. If kept as a bar / club, it'd just be a lick of paint and some minor changes.

I wonder if they could alter it enough to turn it into a bespoke hotel though . That could work, and keep the bar club on the ground floor open. The individual toilets for each room would be an issue though.

Enjoying a drop of red.

I think maybe the Swan and Vine are about as much town centre hotels as this town needs.

I'm just amazed that the job of selling this place wasn't given to one of the stellar Estate agents in the town....

Don’t forget the ten or so apartments next to Couture / and the other five opposite Casa on Bridge Street.
