I guess it must be very difficult to find the right balance - 'twill be interesting to see if it makes a difference to the gate in the first couple of games next season.
Sadly the difference won't be felt I don't think unless they win their first couple of games. When we dropped down to this level in the mid 90s, attendances fell and we were on a bad run and looked to be relegated again - then when we started putting together the unbeaten 23 league game sequence, the crowds started coming back.
At least you should have some decent away followings next season... FCUM, my lot, Hednesford and Northwich should all bring a sizeable crowd....

Problem is the police bill will probably outweigh the income from the extra fans...
Surely the football club only have to pay for police on duty inside the ground?......

Are the fixtures out yet? I'll certainly be down for the FCUM game if we haven't got a home game that day.

There is still a possibility that Rangers could get a reprieve back to the BSN.... unlikely though and fingers crossed they don't....

If they stay in Evostik Prem then fixtures are out in about a month.

What's goin, on? It's getting like the unofficial Ranger's forum on here! :football: It's all getting the optimism hyped up for the forth coming season. We even had a Bloke from the Potteries, on the forum, saying he is abandoning the Vale, and coming down the A34 regularly! I am really looking forward to the new season, shame I will be on Holiday for the first two week's of the season! :grr:

Much as i wanted them to stay up, i must admit i think it may be good for them to have a spell in a lower league if, and i stress if, it means they can get back to winning ways.

Also, as you say,

Hopefully this will go some way to bringing a decent following back to Marston Road that could lead to bigger and better things.

Here's hoping at least. :)

I agree Withnail.... of course no guarantee but in a lower division, they *should* win more than they lose... will be a tough league to win promotion from but even being in with a chance of playoffs at the end of the season should keep it exciting..

And as you say, teams bringing big away followings will also attract more locals for the *big* games, get a good atmosphere in the ground and just generally make it a bit better on match days.

Sounds from the meeting the other night, like the commercial team in place down at the Rangers might have a bit more marketing / promotions sense to them so if they carry that through, should be an exciting season.

That bloke Seddom coming back?
Its' a mistery! Seemed to be a breath of fresh air when he arrived. Had some good idea's, particularly getting the school's involved. He then disappeared virtually as quickly arived. :( Now, Very much depends who you talk too, saint and potential saviour, or sinner, :q: Still posts occaisionally on the Rangers Forum; I think the club has come a long way, and I am sure he had much to do with it. I hope he continues to float around the outside of the club's machinations/hierachy/ruminations, and contibutes where he can, as he had, & continues to have, some good ideas.
