Psychics, Mediums, Clairvoyants - Are they real?

I see there is a psychic medium at the Stafford Cricket and Hockey club and got me thinking if anyone has ever gone to one of these nights and any opinions.
Personally, I've got the image of the Psychic Night on Phoenix Nights -' Is there a John in the room?' but just like the many ghost stories that do the rounds, I keep an open mind whether there's something in it or it's a load of bollocks.

Confirmed "Testes". I've got a written plan somewhere for vexing "cold readers".

Don't know whether I believe or not but wouldn't ever go to a proper seance. (Did used to mess around in our teenage years with the glass and letters on a board thingy, the days when I was both braver and stupid :shifty: ).

Was once spooked though.......

I was walking down the street a few years ago when a total stranger stopped me, said that she was a medium, and that a little grey haired lady was trying to get a message to me ,through her, and it was coming through very strong :lorks:
I was en route to my parents house at the time as mum was in hospital and disabled dad couldn't do much for himself. The message was 'Your dad IS ill, but putting on you! He can do more than he is making out...... treat him firm but fair and don't be put on'. Sure enough when I stopped running myself ragged doing everything for him, dad did start managing to do things that he reckoned he couldn't. Something in it or pure coincidence??????

Freaked me out that I could have 'something' following me around! (The little grey haired lady could be anyone and was a safe bet that I'd know someone from the past with that description-most people go little and grey haired when they're old :D )

I have a very simple question that would prove it once and for all, I just want to know what a mate told me the last night I saw him alive. I've never told anyone, and never will now he's dead, so if someone can tell me I'd start to think about believing them. Only start to think mind, I'd also look at scientific ways that the same information could have been divulged.

Of course psychics will tell you it doesn't work like that and they can only tune into the spirits that want to be heard, which is a very convenient answer that they've learnt from religion.

The jury is out here, and i'm generally a believer in this stuff. I've never been so i couldn't say either. I'd love to take part in a seance but no way am i attempting one on an amatuer basis.

that's a ouija board™ - it was invented as a game for kids and has about as much connection with the spiritual world (if indeed such a thing exists) as my balls:

Husband dragged me to one of these psychics once, on the Stone Rd - just by the bridge before the common, next to the NUT place.

I was horrified as I'm a complete atheist, but equally don't want to mess with stuff I know nothing about. Thankfully there were no messages from beyond the grave for us, but I have to admit that many people there did receive massages AND seemed to know what the medium/psychic was on about...

Also years ago, as part of a work 'treat night out' we all went to see a clairvoyant, she told me that I would have two children in my early twentys, but wouldn't get married or have a daughter till in my late thirty......all came true.........spooky or self forfilling prophecies????

I moved to warrington in may 96and my neighbour asked me to go with her to an open circle and yes i was a bit of a non believer.people got messages through the sitting and then they closed the circle and we got ready to leave. one of the mediums came over to me and told me stuff from when i was small ( no one knew me well enough to know this kind of stuff ) she was telling me conversations i had had with my dad and i knew straight away she was genuine...my dad had passed away in 91.

I've been to a couple over the years and stuff has been said no one else would know , the last 2 I saw both said that I had an aura around me and I should train up to be a medium ( I haven't) but one did accuse me of being one of them !!!
