I know none of it will happen, but it's good to dream :D

Oh, and for those of you who think I'm shoving the car parks there because I don't live near them, I live on Parkside :) hehe.

You make no mention of absurd numbers or additional traffic lights ?! :teef:

Seems like a good idea to me!

Stafford could do with a ring road with no national speed limit. Kind of like an autobarn but in Stafford so no Germans. Excellent.

There's better ways of spending the tens of millions that lot would cost...

Are extra bypasses really going to solve much? The fact remains that most people actually want to go into Stafford not round it. Three supermarkets, retail parks, town centre, and various workplaces are all in or close to the middle of town. Bypasses are not going to do anything with the traffic attracted by those places.

Park and Ride.... How many people come into Stafford from the south to park in town as a proportion of all the traffic coming into town? Are you prepared to increase town centre parking charges or get rid of a load of parking in the town centre to make it work? But also bearing in mind it would still be possible to park in Asda / Sainsburys for free. The new railway station car park is going to have cheaper parking charges at weekends as well (£2/day Sat/Sun has been mentioned). If a P&R were to be plonked in and nothing else changes, nobody will use it.

All those bypasses seem to be on the opposite side of town to the sites where Stafford BC have been proposing to allocate new housing to.

Allow drivers to turn left on red lights (similar to how traffic lights work in the US) or build left turn 'sliproads' like the one between Asda and Lichfield Rd.

Remove unnecessary sets of traffic lights like the one outside Stafford Leisure Centre as you can cross at the Esso garage set.

Get the filtering and timing on all traffic lights changed accordingly as some of them are shocking.

Change Beaconside into a dual carriageway, build your proposed new road between the Fire Station and Walton on the Hill that may help with the gridload that is Lichfield Rd and Weston Rd as traffic tries to head East via Radford Bank, continue it along your proposed route down to the M6 south junction roundabout.

Create a one way ring road around the Stafford town centre using Queensway, Newport Rd up until Station Rd along Tenterbanks/Chell Rd where it reconnects with Queenway, thereby using the existing road capacity in a flowing pattern, but some journeys may be made longer as a result that may promote walking/cycling.

The current proposed road through Doxey may help with the new planned housing.
