Mr Camping has predicted an apocalypse once before, in 1994, though followers now say that only referred to an intermediary stage.
:raise:

I have read elsewhere that it is due at 6.00 pm - presumably based on EDT - so we have until 11.00 pm here.

Plenty of time to get arseholed. Just in case, like.

I liked this bit.

"An atheist and entrepreneur from North Hampshire, Bart Centre, is enjoying a boost in business for Eternal Earth-bound Pets, which he set up to look after the pets of those who believe they will be raptured.

He has more than 250 clients who are paying up to $135 (£83) to have their pets picked up and cared for after the rapture.

They would be disappointed twice, he told the Wall Street Journal. "Once because they weren't raptured and again because I don't do refunds."

Seems rather quiet outside for the first day of the end of the world, I think I'll have a few brown ales and some peanuts, just in case.

Jobs done today; laundry, emptied dishwasher, cleaned conservatory roof, picked up numerous bathroom brochures, taken pork from freezer... so has all been a complete fu*king waste of time?........

Have you pocketed the £40 that Gilbert was supposed to have for doing that? I reckon you could drink that before 6pm...

I am led to believe it is 11pm our time so I would pace yourself Basil.

Do you reckon we'll get 10 minutes drinking up time after 11pm :)

Apparently, he claimed that it would happen at 6pm local time in each and every time zone, but Australia is still just fine.

Of course if there happens to be a level 9 seismic event at 17.59 then a awful lot of folk are going to get religion mighty fast !

Ten minutes gone and it does look a bit like it might rain - but that's not the end of the world, is it?

I'm currently in a small village 10 miles north of Preston. From here, it really is difficult to tell. It does look like the Zombie Plague has begun, however.

it's all a load of bullshit really isn't it. however, whilst i am sceptical of all religions, i do hope that people do not start thinking "well there must be no god because some mentalist in america was wrong"
