yeah, i spotted that, but it's a bit old-skool.. i like shiny new things :D

i tried to convince the missus that the best solution would be a sexy new mac mini that we could stick under the tv, which would then double as the best media centre ever and all round spiffing living-room computer, but i couldn't come up with a viable way for her to connect it to a monitor across the other side of the room so she could play The Sims from the sofa lol.. arse biscuits!

so yeah, at the moment either a dell inspiron 17xx or dell studio 17 seems to be winning the race..

well, i think i just scored the following from dell outlet for only £600 all in!

Studio 1747
17.3in High Definition+ LED with TrueLife
Operating System English Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate (64 BIT)
4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Hard Drive : 500GB Serial ATA (7200RPM)
Graphics 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz (2.8 GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
Black Chainlink
Camera Integrated 2.0 Mega Pixel Camera

yes, you read that right.. top of the range quad-core i7 cpu, 4GB, 1GB dedicated gfx, 500GB 7200rpm HDD, win 7 ultimate - basically, everything absolutely top of the range bizniz, for £600!!

i say i only think i've got it, cos i've never ordered from dell outlet before so knowing my luck something will go wrong, but i've got the initial order confirmation and everything seems kosher so far..

i can't believe it, just yesterday i was one click away from buying the same model, but with a core i3, 3GB, 320GB HDD, vanilla win 7, etc. - and that was £629! so to get all this added shiz for less money has given me such a boner i think i might have to touch my bad self :slayer:

nicely done mate :D

I've had a couple of Dell machines and everything went well with them, delivery times can be a little long on custom builds but nothing to worry too much about!
