So the town centre does have old school grocers, fish mongers and butchers.

Wouldn't it be great if instead of whining about what they think the town doesn't have, but spend the time on finding these things out and actually visit and spend money in these places instead of the easy and lack of quality option of tesco and asda types.

let's see people put away all this talk and support these smaller places.

my guess is people don't really want too. What a great idea so these places don't completely disappear forever

We have a fish mongers in Mill St. But yes I agree people should give the independent stalls/shops a try. They might be surprised how good the quality is.
We buy our bacon, sausage. ham, beefburgers etc. off the deli stall on the market. All top quality produce.

They were interviewing in Costa last Saturday they had the table in the corner and as you stood and queued you could hear the interviews, interesting when they said now tell me about yourself, they should of said now tell US about yourself.

My daughter spent some time with my parents last week and had dinner (lunch for non-Doxites) and was cooked some bacon from Tomlinson's butchers and said that it was the best she'd ever tasted in all her full 16 years of her life. True dat.

There is plenty going on at the former creperie place.

they seem to be doing plenty including completely gutting the place.

They have recently finished scraping the old paint from the outside and repainted which us clearly evident. That said I doubt all the scaffolding that is up around their entrance for county buildings and blocking some access is making the decision for them right now.

It is not up to you JM to decide when someone should open their business and wouldn't it be novel if you reigned on the horse manure that comes our of that hole and give these people a chance instead of slagging them off.

That's the problem with social media and less than bright Internet trolls, easy to criticise from afar and behind a keyboard yet don't have the balls nor mental clout to do anything worthwhile themselves. Wink wink lol

No irony, just needs to said when some just piss over others' parades and have nothing good nor to say on good or positive things.

it can be humorous at times but it isn't on every god damn post. It is boring to slag and poke fun at everything.

p.s. I am one who has who had the mental strength and balls to do some worthwhile and set businesses and charities. If businesses and companies deserve criticism then let it be through one's experiences or the incompetence of a business.

Who would want to open up a business in town with some of the critics on here take the piss before a place has even been refurbed.

It could be because I lack Gareth's mental strength, but in Riverside I have the impression that store assistants outnumber customers in the evenings. Does it make financial sense to stay open until 8pm?

DEVELOPING... New Nando's set to open overlooking the river in Stafford.

Nando's is set to open its doors from Wednesday, November 16 at Riverside, creating 37 new jobs.

It will be opposite the M&S store over looking the River Sow. The restaurant will feature a range of Southern African inspired interiors and artworks, including Slatted Iroko table tops with Domino cast aluminium bases, genuine reclaimed oak flooring, yellow leaf shaped and black side chairs as well as urban inspired graffiti painted ceilings.

Regional managing director Martin McTigue, said: "We can't wait to finally open the doors to our new Nando's in Stafford. The team are very much looking forward to seeing all the locals and visitors for their Peri-Peri-fix."

It is one of a number of new restaurants set to open along the river as part of the new Waterfront car park development. Other restaurants are set to include Chiquitos and Prezzo.

Work has now also begun on the new multi-screen Odeon cinema, which will stand next to the Waterfront car park.

Sounds really classy and stylish, I don't think.

Must be plenty of reclaimable flooring knocking about it Stafford, with all the buildings that have been demolished.

I tend to steer away from places like Nando's and Starbucks as the accountants have too much influence but it is a good addition to the town.
I wonder if it will be a bit isolated on that side of the river whilst the development remains unfinished between the carpark and the bridge?

Not sure why it would, car park there makes it accessible and frankie and benny's isn't far off.

revolution is on its own of an evening and looks very well used.

Great news to see this development nearing completion - Shame the Newsletter couldn't take an uptodate picture of the near complete restaurant, but at least they got the correct carpark in their picture!
