Funny how the article seems to be casting the action group as the bad guys, not the money-grabbing developer and council wanting to destroy part of a nature reserve. Facebook page says the judicial review has been settled, anyway. Never let three day old facts get in the way of a good story.

There's one with a reddish tie, apparently - but the Ides of March are only four weeks away....

I suspect they'll be postponed until May but with the EU referendum expected to be called for the end of June this issue could muddy the water and it might be Labour's turn to sit down with a bowl of popcorn and watch the Tories tear themselves apart.

Labour needs a Scarlet Apron Freemasons group.

I'd dare to profess (real) Labour needs Corbyn, but the electorate are too stupid to seek change for another term by which point we won't need a government as everything will be privatised. Teachers are so last year, doctors are the new scum, I wonder who gets the title in 2017? Private fire brigades are a bit OTT for the UK right now but private police?

    Labour died

    Liberals died

    Ukip died

The Proles find it impossible to consider more than one issue at a time and....oooh...look...shiny things!

The piece isn't making the action group look like bad guys at all, in fact the piece comes across as very much on the fence.

any underhand approach seems to be from the rugby club sneakily trying to get in through the back. I also cannot find anything on the review being settled.

    From Express & Star

Director Martin Lennon said: “We will still move forward and still build it either way but it won’t be as good as it could be if we get all of the funding.”

So he's saying that they will build it, with or without planning permission?

He added: "I can’t speak for the motivations of the residents other than to say they want to try their best to delay this.”

Apparently he's unaware of something called democracy and has had his head buried in the sand (or marshland) for the past year or two.

Interestingly, you may find the borough council distancing themselves from the chosen location, and claiming that in time, more suitable locations may/would become available.

Code for : Rugby club - you're on your own (unless your patient) as Doxey is toxic (in a purely political way - unless of course you include the back of the Uni, which is plainly very toxic)

oh Christ. Not another local pressure group that might have had a point and an impact if it weren't being used as an illiterate screaming pit for any and all local issue. What a shame.

TBF, whilst Martin Lennon "... can’t (or rather won't) speak for the motivations of the residents other than to say they want to try their best to delay this”, the E&S could speak for them, by the simple expedient of asking them.

I'm unconvinced that their only motivation is to "delay this", perhaps the E&S 'reporter' was already late for lunch.
