Done my bit too, but I completely despair of some of the comments I've just read that are in favour of it.:(

Ah yes the rallying call from the chairman, who in this weeks newsletter makes nasty comments about locals, rallying call from players and no doubt the SBC employee. Not bad for a team watched by 50 people on average.

So if these plans are under review why is preliminary work being done. Surely until the review has been conducted they can't. Someone was putting paint markings down the other day and now all the trees are being felled.

No real need for it is there. Let the wildlife have a home for a little while longer till it's all bulldozed and flood lights are up etc.
Leave 'em altogether for me.

Possibly using the "get 'em down before any nests get in the way" reasoning....?

Or, "just whack 'em down and get away with it anyway"...?

No consultation response from "Leisure"
Or the "biodiversity officer", or "SWT" as yet.

Unless i missed them.

Be interesting to see if the 'biodiversity officer' stands his ground and registers his objection in line with SWT as before he did - if he doesn't it will be quite apparent that he's been 'got at', so to speak.

I've met the chap, and he's struck me as being a man of integrity, so i expect him to maintain his line of opposition.

Actually, i think Bill Waller deserves an enormous amount of credit for opposing this in the last round - it is entirely possible that it was not easy for him to be so free with his opposition.

Round Two - ding ding

Funny how the article seems to be casting the action group as the bad guys, not the money-grabbing developer and council wanting to destroy part of a nature reserve. Facebook page says the judicial review has been settled, anyway. Never let three day old facts get in the way of a good story.

I think it is quite clear that the site is not on the Nature reserve. It is always helpful to deal in facts

Might be a stupid question, but are all these facilities solely for rugby, and are the windswept pitches for public use? The £400m we're giving them seems ridiculous if this place is only for the use of blokes with crinkly ears and funny-shaped balls. Why can't Sport England donate our money to improve sport for all, not just a minority?
The club have said publicly that the aim is to make this facility available for multiple sports and community uses
