Hi folks,

Saw this on HUKD posted before Christmas and I managed to miss it until this week. Anyway the offer is still working - B&Q have the Ryobi Li-Ion 18v "One+" cordless hammer drill on offer for £59.98 but its actually scanning at £49.98....

Ryobi are a decent make and it seems like a great product for £50... not many other lithium ion 18v cordless hammer drills out there for that sort of money.

For anyone who doesn't know about the One+ system, basically you can use the batteries for it in any of the One+ range of tools so its cheaper to buy loads of tools and just use one or two batteries across them all.

Anyway its in Stafford store, about 4 left on the shelf when I got mine. Remember, labeled up at £60 but should scan at £50....

Hmm, looking for a cheap drill for the other half (save taking mine round every time!). Mine is a B&D nicad with two batteries, and TBH is very good. This one could be better, but I like having the spare battery.....

Can buy the batteries separately... there is even models with the two batteries but of course that all adds to the cost.

As I said though, if you buy a few tools from them and they all use the same batteries then it is handy.

How long do the nicad batteries take to charge and how long do you get out of them? IIRC the Li-Ion batteries have little discharge 9compared to nicad) when not in use and the Ryobi one only takes 1 hour to fully charge which seems pretty good.

The reason I got this is because my old nicad one doesn't hold a charge any more so when I come to use it its dead and takes hours to charge by which time I lose motivation (and daylight) to do whatever job I planned to do.

You know what, it may be Li-ion after all as I think its only an hour or so to charge and the batteries seem to hold a charge quite well. I only paid £50 in a B&Q clearance though so not sure they'd have been scrapping li-ions 2 years ago!
